Get answers to common questions about Takedown (Sew-In/Braids).
Typical takedown appointments range from 30 to 90 minutes depending on braid density, extension type, and complexity. We focus on gentle removal only; shampoo and deep cleaning are not included but can be booked separately.
Shampoo is not included with the takedown service. If you'd like a wash or conditioning treatment after removal, please add that service when booking or ask your stylist; we can recommend the best follow-up for your hair.
When performed by trained stylists, takedowns are safe and minimize damage. Communication about weak spots, gentle detangling, and slow, careful techniques protect natural hair; we won't rush removal or force stubborn wefts.
No need to detangle fully beforehand; leaving removal to our stylists ensures the safest results. If hair is heavily product-coated, lightly removing excess oils or applying a detangler helps, but avoid harsh brushing before your appointment.
Complex takedowns involving glue, fused wefts, or extreme matting may incur an extra fee due to added time and materials. We assess each removal on arrival and provide transparent pricing or a quick estimate before proceeding.
You can re-install immediately if your scalp and hair are clean and healthy, but we usually recommend shampooing, deep conditioning and a short rest period. Waiting 24–48 hours often yields better protection and styling results.
